Privacy Policy for Cardiolytics
Effective Date: February 4, 2026
Introduction
Cardiolytics is a VO2 Max and fitness age tracking app developed by Based Solutions LLC. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use Cardiolytics. Since our app does not collect, transmit, or store personal data on external servers, this policy is designed to provide transparency about our practices.
Data Collection
Cardiolytics does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data from users to external servers. Personal data includes, but is not limited to, your name, email address, location, or device identifiers. We do not require user sign-in or authentication, and we do not track your activity or share any information with third parties.
Apple Health Integration
Cardiolytics integrates with Apple Health to read your fitness and health data for display and analysis within the app. This integration:
- Only reads data that you explicitly authorize through Apple Health permissions, including:
- VO2 Max measurements
- Age (date of birth) for fitness age calculations
- Workout data (type, duration, distance, heart rate)
- Does not write or modify any data in Apple Health
- Monitors for new VO2 Max data to provide local notifications
- All health data remains on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third parties
Premium Subscription
Cardiolytics offers optional premium subscriptions (monthly and yearly plans) that unlock additional features. Subscription purchases are processed entirely through Apple's App Store using StoreKit:
- Apple handles all payment processing and billing information
- We do not have access to your payment information or billing details
- Subscription status is verified locally on your device through Apple's App Store receipts
- No subscription or purchase data is transmitted to our servers
- You can manage your subscription through your Apple ID account settings
Notifications
Cardiolytics requests permission to send local notifications to alert you when new VO2 Max data is available in Apple Health. These notifications are generated locally on your device and do not involve any data transmission to external servers.
Third-Party Services
Cardiolytics does not use any third-party services for data collection, analytics, or advertising. The app relies exclusively on Apple's native frameworks (HealthKit, StoreKit), but no health data or personal information is shared with Apple or any other third parties beyond what is inherent to iOS system functionality for subscription management.
Local Storage
Cardiolytics stores the following data locally on your device only:
- User preferences and app settings (notification preferences, display settings)
- Subscription status verified through Apple's StoreKit
- Cached health data retrieved from Apple Health for app functionality
This data is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party.
Children's Privacy
Cardiolytics is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children, and our app complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Data Security
Since Cardiolytics does not transmit data off your device, your health information and subscription status remain secure within Apple's frameworks (HealthKit and StoreKit) and your device's local storage. We rely on Apple's security measures to protect your data.
Your Rights
Since we do not collect or store any personal data on our servers, there is no data for us to access, modify, or delete. All your health data is controlled by you through Apple Health, and all subscription data is managed through your Apple ID account. You can:
- Revoke Cardiolytics' access to Apple Health at any time through iOS Settings
- Delete the app to remove all locally stored preferences
- Manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID settings
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page, and the effective date will be updated accordingly. You will also be notified of changes via the App Store.
